Travelling further South we stop at Edith falls where you will have
the opportunity to swim in cool clear water, walk through bush
tracks and explore spectacular sandstone country. Next we make
tracks to the majestic Katherine Gorge for a choice of a two hour
cruise or a canoeing adventure. We finish the day by travelling to
our campsite at the historic Springvale Homestead. Enjoy a star
gazing talk after dinner.

the mighty Victoria River on the way. The vehicle will be inspected

spectacular cruise and sausage sizzle BBQ lunch. Lake Argyle covers
an area over 12 times the size of Sydney harbour! The scenery is
constantly changing from the rugged northern end across the
unbelievable expanse of open water to the southern reaches. See rock
wallabies, crocodiles, wallaroos and birdlife with possibly some
time for a swim before we head back to set up camp for the night.

found in the East Kimberley. There may be a chance to watch as the
artists craft the rock into large and small souvenir items. Time to
grab some lunch (own expense) before we head off to El Questro
Wilderness Park. Spanning 1 million acres in size, this is one of
the world’s last unspoilt frontiers, immersed in the Cockburn
Ranges. Time to set up camp for the next two nights.

DAY 5: EL QUESTRO TO BUNGLE BUNGLES
Today we travel southwards, where will test the terrain-conquering
ability of our rugged 4 wheel drive vehicle. A rough 50km track off
the Great Northern Highway leads to the spectacular Bungle Bungle
Ranges in Purnululu National Park. We make several stops along the
way to take in the commanding views. Over the last 20 million years,
erosion and river movements have formed these huge black and orange
striped domes. As unbelievable as it seems, this area was kept a
secret by locals until 1982, and was made a national park in 1987.
We settle into our camp where we’ll spend two nights.

take a scenic flight (extra cost) over this spectacular region –
it’s an absolute must!! Then it’s back to camp to review the days’
activities.

for the night.

DAY 8: FITZROY CROSSING TO WINDJANA GORGE
Another amazing journey waits as we make our

the Fitzroy River has cut through fossil reef over millions of
years. There is an opportunity to spot fresh water crocodiles, all
manner of birdlife, and other native animals like dingos and
wallabies as we traverse the mighty Fitzroy River. Tunnel Creek is
our next attraction, so make sure you have your flash light as our
750 metre underground discovery walk is dark, wet and fascinating!!
We then head to our night spot Windjana Gorge - this is an area
where sheer cliffs tower above white sands and freshwater crocodiles
are often seen sunning themselves in the afternoon sun.

Derby to visit the infamous Boab Prison Tree, once used as a
temporary prison for the local Aborigines. Our journey ends as we
make our way to our final destination, Broome where you will
farewell your travelling companions. From its rough and tumble,
romantic pearling history to the cosmopolitan character of
Chinatown, to the turquoise waters, red sandstone cliffs and the
endless expanse of white....the colours and moods of Broome will
blow you away. This afternoon take a camel ride* on the longest and
most photographed camel train in the Kimberley.
If time permits there may be an opportunity for some sight
seeing in Broome and farewell dinner at one of the many
restaurants.
