DAY 1: BROOME TO WINDJANA GORGE via DERBY
Our adventure begins as we depart Broome and head off in our purpose built 4 wheel drive. We’ll be covering some rugged country over the next 9 days and will need the extra grunt! First off, it’s time to explore the awesome Kimberleys – one of the world’s great wilderness areas. It has fewer people per square kilometre than almost any other place on earth! We travel via the regional township of Derby and visit the infamous Boab Prison Tree, once used as a temporary prison for the local Aborigines.
Leaving Derby behind, we head to our night spot to Windjana Gorge, an area where sheer cliffs tower above white sands

OVERNIGHT Windjana Gorge Camping
Meals: Lunch & Dinner

DAY 2: WINDJANA GORGE TO FITZROY CROSSING
An early start this morning as we explore Windjana Gorge and make our way to Tunnel Creek to explore Western Australia’s oldest cave system - make sure you have your flash light as our 750 metre underground discovery walk is dark, wet and fascinating!
This afternoon, we enjoy the first of our cruises along the spectacular Geikie Gorge - marvel at the multicoloured rock cliffs where the Fitzroy River has cut through fossil reef over millions of years. There is an opportunity to spot fresh water crocodiles as we traverse the mighty Fitzroy River.

OVERNIGHT Fitzroy Crossing Lodge Camping
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 3: FITZROY TO BUNGLES
Today we travel east towards Halls Creek into Purnululu National Park. We’ll engage our 4WD to navigate our way through this spectacular landscape making several stops to take in the commanding views of Bungle Bungle Ranges. Over the last 20 million years, erosion and river movements have formed these huge black and orange striped domes. As unbelievable as it seems, this area was kept a secret by locals until 1982, and was made a national park in 1987. Arriving deep in the heart of the Bungle Bungles, we establish our base camp for the next two nights.

OVERNIGHT Bungle Bungles Purnululu N.P. (Camping)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 4: BUNGLE BUNGLES
A day to explore the amazing striped rock domes that comprise the Bungle Bungles. Specifically, we will visit the very impressive Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm. Today you’ll have the option to take a scenic flight (extra cost) over this spectacular region – it’s an absolute must!! Then it’s back to camp to review the days’ activities.

OVERNIGHT Bungle Bungles Purnululu N.P. (Camping)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 5: BUNGLE BUNGLES TO EL QUESTRO
We make tracks to the tiny settlement of Turkey Creek, where we once again do some more 4 wheel driving and head out to further examples of stunning outback scenery at El Questro Wilderness Reserve immersed in the Cockburn Ranges. Spanning 1 million acres in size, this is one of the world’s last unspoilt frontiers. On arrival we set up camp for the next two nights.

OVERNIGHT El Questro Wilderness Reserve (Camping) Kununurra
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

DAY 6: EL QUESTRO
This morning we’ll explore Zebedee Springs which is a short walk off the graded road through dense palms to a series of thermal pools, a fabulous place to soak and relax. This afternoon our exploring continues at one of the many gorges. Tonight enjoy a drink with the locals at the El Questro Outback Bar.

OVERNIGHT El Questro Wilderness Reserve (Camping)

DAY 7: EL QUESTRO TO KUNUNURRA
Our journey continues as we make our way to Kununurra where you’ll have free time to grab some lunch (own expense) and explore the array of diamond shops from the Argyle Diamond mines. View the amazing hand made rock carvings and if time permits maybe wander down to the setting of the tranquil lake and enjoy the fish feeding before returning to camp.

DAY 8: KUNUNURRA TO KATHERINE
Departing Kununurra we make our way to Lake Argyle where we enjoy a spectacular cruise and sausage sizzle BBQ early lunch. Lake Argyle covers an area over 12 times the size of Sydney harbour! The scenery is constantly changing from the rugged northern end across the unbelievable expanse of open water to the southern reaches. See rock wallabies, crocodiles, wallaroos and birdlife with possibly some time for a swim! Our adventure continues further east along the Victoria highway crossing into the
Northern Territory where we enjoy a break at Timber Creek. Our drive this afternoon takes us all the way to Katherine to our campsite at the historic Springvale Campsite.

OVERNIGHT Springvale Homestead Camping – share facilities

Next we stop into the picturesque town of Adelaide River where we stop in and say g’day to a famous Australian icon, The Buffalo ‘Charlie’ - the star of Crocodile Dundee! Our adventure comes to an end as we make our way to our final destination Darwin and farewell our travelling companions. Tonight you’re free to explore this multi-cultural city and if time permits there may be an opportunity for some sightseeing and a meal out at a local restaurant (own expense).
